Signing the Employers Domestic Abuse Covenant (EDAC) is a pledge to support men and women affected by abuse to enter or re-enter the workforce. The Kinovo Group, including Purdy, Dunhams and Spokemead, is committed to being an inclusive employer and signing the EDAC highlights that this extends to victims & survivors of domestic abuse.

Lauren Parkinson, Group HR Manager, comments: “The EDAC is supported by UK government and Department for Work and Pensions and aims to offer flexible and sustainable opportunities for all to achieve long term financial independence and economic security, by finding long term and sustainable work solutions.

“Signing the EDAC also means we pledge to raise awareness of domestic abuse and encourage meaningful conversations and act as a champion to break the taboo’s surrounding victims & survivors of domestic abuse, something we are equally happy to support.

“As an inclusive employer that works in the social housing sector, we are aware of the devasting affects domestic abuse can have on women. Many are suffering a severe lack of confidence and working with the EDAC, we can help them to gain confidence in the world of work by providing a safe environment to learn skills and build experience, and hopefully make a life-changing difference.”
