R Dunham, the leading provider of electrical, mechanical, general building and renewable energy services, and one of the principal contractors for Poplar HARCA, announces that it is changing its trading name to ‘Dunhams’. The rebrand, which includes a new modernised logo, is a reflection of the changing culture and growing service offering within the business. The move also unifies Dunhams within the Kinovo family house of brands, which include Purdy and Spokemead.
Pippa Pang, Kinovo’s Social Value and Marketing Manager comments: “Since becoming part of the Kinovo Group in 2018, Dunhams has thrived and strengthened its partnership with long term clients and forged relationships with new ones. In parallel, the business has broadened its scope of work from just electrical works to include plumbing, roofing, general building and reactive maintenance services. We felt it was time to reflect these developments to the outside world and we hope this rebrand does just this.
“The new branding is a natural evolution from the previous R Dunhams logo. Adding a fresh and lighter blue to the original blue, plus the introduction of an icon that modernises the brand, featuring an interlocking ‘U’ alluding to a sense of customer focus and a ‘N’ in the shape of a house. Each of the businesses within the Kinovo family utilises the ‘part of the Kinovo group’ identity, to unify the subsidiaries within the group. sharpening its focus to flourish
“Ultimately, a brand is so much more than just a name or logo. While it’s important for visual identities to keep up to date, for Kinovo and our group businesses, we recognise that behind a brand, lies a culture, attitude and an understanding of what everyone in the business is striving towards and delivering every day.”
Alison Beach, Commercial Director at Dunhams added: “Dunhams, formerly known as ‘R Dunham’ was established in 1966 by Robert Dunham as a family run business carrying our electrical installations and repairs in and around East London and Essex. However, Robert retired in 2002 and the company has become fondly known internally and, within the industry, as ‘Dunhams’, hence the decision to remove the ‘R’ from the identity. With the positive progress that the business has made, the time is right to modernise the look and feel of the company and we believe that this new identity will really help us to do that.”
David Bullen, CEO of Kinovo Group concludes: “Dunhams has made significant improvements over the last few years and continues to do so. The hard work of the Dunhams team, led by Alison Beach, who has recently been appointed as Commercial Director, has been instrumental in driving successful change through the company. We have a very positive outlook for Dunhams and are excited to see the new branding roll out as they enter a new chapter in their development.”
