Fay Poddington, our dedicated Customer Liaison Officer at Purdy, recently shared an uplifting initiative that has been making a vital impact on team morale and mental wellbeing. Every Monday morning, Fay and the team gather for a casual 30-minute get-together where they engage in light-hearted conversations about anything and everything. These weekly meetings serve as a delightful opportunity to shake off the “dreaded Monday blues,” creating a supportive and cheerful environment that sets a positive tone for the week ahead.

Appreciated initiative

The Monday morning meetings have received great positive feedback from Purdy team members, including Ayman Naouar, Apprentice Contract Administrator and Charelle Walton, Contracts Administrator, who expressed their appreciation for the initiative.

Ayman shared, “I just want to say how much I love the Monday meetings and how our team gets together to brighten up the mood at the start of the week. Your idea of getting the team together lightens everybody’s mood, especially me saying the most random stuff ever to make you guys laugh.”

Charelle expressed similar thoughts, stating, “It was really good, a nice catch-up full of laughter and tears with the team. Definitely something that is needed to boost my Monday morning blues. Special thank you to Fay for coming up with this.”

Virtual coffee morning

Another initiative we run that is designed to encourage all teams to take a little bit of time to prioritise their well-being, is the monthly virtual coffee morning, hosted by Pippa Pang, our Social Value and Marketing Manager.

Pippa explains: “The virtual coffee mornings were initially introduced during Mental Health Awareness Week and were so popular that they have become a monthly fixture. The idea is to talk about anything other than work! Sometimes it sneaks in, which is fine as they are intended to simply provide an additional opportunity for team members to connect, share, and support each other, contributing to a workplace culture that values mental health and wellbeing.”

At Kinovo, we believe in the power of connection, conversation, and community to lift spirits, strengthen relationships, and promote mental well-being. Through initiatives like the Monday morning meetings and monthly virtual coffee mornings, we continue to prioritise the mental health and happiness of our team members, creating a workplace environment where everyone feels valued, supported, and encouraged to be their authentic selves.

As we continue to navigate the challenges and uncertainties of the modern workplace, let us remember the importance of taking care of our mental health and supporting one another with kindness, compassion, and understanding, not just during Mental Health Awareness Month but throughout the year.
